Bodoland Territorial Council

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is an autonomous administrative body established in 2003 under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, following the signing of the Bodo Accord between the Government of India, the Government of Assam, and the Bodo Liberation Tigers Force (BLTF). The BTC administers the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), which comprises the districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa, and Udalguri in the western part of Assam. The council has legislative, executive, and financial powers over a wide range of subjects, including education, health, agriculture, public works, forests, and other departments within its jurisdiction. BTC periodically conducts recruitment drives through the Central Selection Board (CSB), Kokrajhar, to fill various government posts across its departments, attracting a large number of candidates from the BTR and eligible areas.

Recruitment examinations under BTC cover a wide range of posts across multiple departments, including positions such as Junior Assistant, Forest Guard, Forester, Teacher, Grade IV staff, and other technical and ministerial roles. The selection process typically involves a written examination with objective-type multiple-choice questions, followed by skill tests or physical tests where applicable, and a viva-voce round. The written examinations generally cover subjects like General English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, and region-specific topics depending on the post and its educational qualification requirements. Candidates must be permanent residents of the Bodoland Territorial Region to be eligible for most posts, and applications are accepted online through the official CSB portal. The recruitment notifications, admit cards, and results are published on the BTC and CSB official websites.
